Sound Lab

Per student lesson rates:

  • 45 minutes - $40

  • 60 minutes - $50

With an emphasis on project and session based learning, ‘Sound Lab’ is the arena where a student can be supported in further exploration of traditional, electronic, digital, and hybrid domains of music-making and sound.

General audio and recording engineering concepts can be explored, as well as utilizing technologies such as DAW’s or sequencers to compose, edit, and notate music and sound.

Other topics and areas of interest such as synthesis and sound design can be explored through the use of analog, digital synthesizers and further use of a DAW (digital audio workstation/computer:software)

Opportunities to develop ‘know how’ in the general music engineering landscape and audio reinforcement domain will be presented, and sometimes present themselves! This knowledge and experience is enriching in that it helps one to consistently foster the optimal conditions for making great music and sounds.

A program of study can be developed and tailored to the individual student, and sessions can be set from a ‘per lesson’, ‘set course’, to an ‘ongoing’ basis.
